The liberal state has a monopoly on the ‘legitimate’ use of violence to maintain its grip on the educational, economic, political, and social standings of the citizens of the liberal state. Through a violent militarized police force and through false democracy laws antithetical to the ideas of the founding of America are passed these laws banish the economically disenfranchised to ‘correctional facilities’ (jails). Simply because the capitalist system upon which liberal democracy operates on (the principles of Neoliberalism the current political ideology1 maintaining the political system2 of liberal democracy) does not accommodate for the economically disenfranchised or the socially vulnerable. Neoliberalism tries applying economically materialistic fixes for major social issues like, racism, sexism, and large class inequity. As Neoliberalism increasingly replaces the role of government welfare and state influence in the economy and instead gifts the vacancy to corporations (P.I.E Vol.1). Neoliberals are often criticised for their uncanny ability to trust the markets to “self correct” and be able to efficiently distribute goods to the citizens. Through this unsteady reliance on the market for the stability of retirement funds, 401K, and other welfare has helped to further shake the economic stability of the average American. This led to almost a majority of Americans 49% of US citizens living paycheck to paycheck in 2020 and 53% said they did not have an emergency fund that would cover three months of expenses (Newsroom). This would not have been an issue had covid-19 not hit causing a massive economic panic associated with the loss of millions of jobs, unemployment, and potentially catastrophic medical expenses highlighting the current privatized health care systems flaws and major weaknesses. This perhaps wouldn’t be a problem if the liberal state could deal with the soon to be economically disenfranchised individuals, and the individuals who experienced the highest rates of homelessness were very much individual citizens of the liberal state,”Individuals are also solely responsible for the national-level increases in overall homelessness that occurred over the last three years. Individual homelessness increased by 11 percent over that period even as numbers for people in families continued to decrease.” (“State of Homelessness: 2020 Edition - National Alliance to End Homelessness”). With the economic ruin many have had a difficulty even following CDC guidelines as cited in this quote,

Self-quarantine, social isolation, and stay-at-home orders are difficult, if not impossible, to follow when you do not have a home. Thus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has offered guidance on how to best serve people in sheltered and unsheltered locations. Meeting COVID-19-related health needs is putting new strain on homeless services systems, especially those with large numbers of infected consumers.” (“State of Homelessness: 2020 Edition - National Alliance to End Homelessness”).

The economic struggle of the citizens of a liberal state should be no problem however the liberal state is unable to deal with this issue and comes up with a much ‘easier’ solution. What is this fantastic program you ask? Well providing a 24/7 housing opportunity with three meals a day, more than adequate for the starving man, the promise of a cot and a roof over your head: Jail! When the liberal state can’t take the complaints of the bourgeois about the homeless creti-citizens any longer they put these individuals in jail. This is done through banning ‘homeless’ behaviors, don’t believe me? Here's a quote from a homeless survey,

In surveying 187 cities across the U.S., the Law Center found that 34% of cities have city-wide bans on camping in public (which’… ‘can include everything from setting up temporary housing to simply sleeping outdoors), up 60% since 2011. Forty-three percent of cities prohibit sleeping in vehicles, up a whopping 119% since 2011. And 53% of cities make it illegal to simply sit or lie down in public, a 43% increase since 2011.’”(Imbrey).

Now would a society truly based on the principles of freedom and justice really make it illegal in more than ninety of its cities illegal to simply lay down? Liberal democracy is not even efficient in it’s many evils,”For example, research commissioned by the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness released earlier this year found that providing permanent housing for even half of the area’s chronically homeless population would save taxpayers $149 million over the next decade in reduced law enforcement and medical costs.” (Imbrey). It would be less expensive for the average American to reduce the suffering of individuals put in jail not because they were violent or dangerous but merely not of the right aesthetic for the bourgeois who must curse their eyes upon such human filth.

The liberal state seeks to create a near perfect society with minimal human suffering by way of granting extended freedom, instead it deceives the citizen by merely pretending or giving individuals the illusion of choice. And in regards to how you express freedom of speech when you’ve been more or less programmed to use diminished or limited free speech you are further suppressed. The suffering or elimination of suffering under a liberal democratic society means nothing but merely perfecting the act of deceiving the citizens of its nation state. The Law Center report points out that laws criminalizing homelessness are costly and ineffective. While doing nothing to address the underlying cause of homelessness or provide long-term solutions, the report notes that criminalization costs taxpayers more money than providing housing would actually be less expensive. The liberal state provides false freedom and holds an oppressive dagger to the necks to those it oppresses, only together we are able to rise against this.
